1) This quest starts in the Schuttgart region in the Plunderous Plains. The actual starting area appears to be random as I have found Ivan in two places so far. Here's one of them. Basically you have two choices, tell him to go away or give him a scroll of eccape.
If you give him a scroll of escape, one will vanish from inventory and he will disappear. He tells you to find his father, Batidae in the town of Schuttgart.
2) Back in Schuttgart town you can find Batidae in the Grocery Shop. He will thank you and reward you with 2883 adena.
